About TopShortDramas

· Written by the TopShortDramas editorial team

TopShortDramas ranks vertical short-drama apps the hard way — by using them, not by reading their marketing. For each app we download it, watch until the free episodes run out, push through at least one paywall, and write down exactly what happens: the real weekly price, the coin math to finish a series, how natural the dubbing sounds, and how the billing behaves when you try to cancel. None of it is lifted from a press release.

Who runs this site

TopShortDramas is owned and operated by an independent publisher (registered as an Osek Patur small business in Ramat Gan, Israel), founded in 2024. Our team leads all testing and editorial work. The responsible person for all content is named, contactable and listed in full on our Imprint — a deliberate choice, because a review you can't trace to a real person is a review you shouldn't trust.

Our expertise is experiential, not academic: we have hands-on tested all 14 apps we rank — DramaBox, ReelShort, ShortMax, GoodShort, KalosTV, FlickReels, Playlet, StardustTV, Veloria, StarShort, MoboReels, TopShort, HoneyReels and Footage — across iOS, Android and web, through free tiers and paid subscriptions, since 2024. When we say a coin pack costs $30–60 to finish a series, or that one app's dub drifts out of sync, it is because we sat through it.

How we stay independent

We make money through affiliate links: if you install an app or subscribe after clicking a link here, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is disclosed on every page. Here is what that commission does not do:

  • It does not change our scores. Our 1–10 ratings come from testing, not from payout rates — and several apps we earn from are ranked below apps we earn less from, or criticised in the same breath as the affiliate link.
  • It does not buy a place in a ranking. Every app in a list is there because the topic justifies it.
  • It does not stop us pointing you elsewhere. Where our apps don't answer your question, we say so and name non-affiliate alternatives — Netflix, Rakuten Viki, iQIYI, Vigloo — that we earn nothing from.

Full details are on our How we test page and our Disclaimer.

What we cover

Every substantive question a short drama viewer asks: which app is best for a genre, what apps really cost, how to watch free, how to cancel, whether an app is safe for children, which apps offer English dubbing, and how AI is changing the format. Our most-referenced pages are the 14-app comparison matrix and the 1–10 scorecards with safety and glossary.

Corrections and contact

Short drama apps change constantly — prices, free-tier limits and regional catalogs move without notice. Every page carries a visible "Data last verified" date, and we re-check regularly. If you spot something out of date or wrong, tell us and we will fix it: support@topshortdramas.com or via our contact page.
